Love your Spring update and especially the info about Tuiare

Lake. I aged 3 or 4 years during this winter. Due to the recent summer weather I am beginning to feel younger again!

I walk around my yard watching green pop up everywhere.

Yard and planting area bring so much joy for me!

Yard needs lots of work, but after doing little at a time, I will rejoice and feel mentally and physically better! Hopefully feel younger again ! I’m not 90 yet!

I'm glad you read and liked it, Grandma! I felt so much less achey and tired after working in the garden on those recent warm days. Planting & enjoying your flowers will give you back what the winter took away.

Hi there,

Well, the snow is finally starting to melt up here in Marquette, thank God! And, some things are poking their heads out, mainly crocuses and some irises. Up here we won't be planting anything outdoors until after Memorial Day unless we have a much warmer spring. This year I am going to plant squash and cukes and some other things indoors to get an earlier start on them. I may be coming to Saginaw 4/28-4/30 for a dog show and to do some shopping. I would like to stop by and see your garden, see Münch and all of you. Will you be around then? Take care, Michelle Van Howe

Hi Michelle! I'm glad that spring is finally arriving in the U.P.! I think I'll start squash indoors too-- I've had much better luck that way than when I've just planted the seeds outdoors. We'd love to see you. I'll be out of town most of that weekend, but Phillip will be here. I'll e-mail you for details. Thanks for reading and commenting! --Erin

If I enter Münch, I would need to do that tonight, so have to know fairly soon.

Bob and I were just talking about maybe entering Münch in the dog shows in Chesaning. Would one of your kids be able to come to help hold Prudence outside the ring?

Hi Erin!

Thanks for responding so quickly! I have been waffling on whether to make the trip or not, so this helps. I enjoy your posts, but the photos don’t come through on my computer. Bob says they do on his, so will look at them there.

Do you have any recommendations for a brand/type of grow lights? I think that is what I need to ask for this Mother’s day, etc., so I can do this in the basement. My kitchen counters are piling up with stuff!

We have had a very long and cold and snowy winter here, so I am thoroughly enjoying the warmth this week. Our backyard is an ice-skating rink right now with dog poop everywhere!! And, our puppy is chewing all my plants off—very frustrating. He had gone to the owner of the sire, but she returned him 5 weeks later-unbelievable but true. He is a sweet boy though and very bonded to me.

Talk more later!

Michelle
